About us
In the end of Meiji era, Fusakichi Kume moved from Shikoku area to Miyazaki and started Omori Udon.
The udon restaurant got a business approval in the second year of Taisho, 1913.
Iriko, dried infant sardine from the store "Minato-ya" and soy source from "Kanemaru-honten" on our street are unnescesary to make our sweet and salty dashi soup.
It used to be crowded with people from nearby schools and markets.
Ehira pond behind the restaurant was the dumpsite for leftover udon back in the old days.
One day, Fusakichi's wife Shima came up with an idea to serve "omori" udon, or large udon insted of dumping those leftovers.
Her idea made good reputations as everyone wants to eat Omori udon which fills your stomach with a large bowl.
In 2013, Omori Udon became 100 years old.
Omori Udon has the oldest history in Miyazaki.
